PARIS, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and former French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius hailed the favorable development of the Sino-French relations here on Friday.
Wang met with Fabius, who is currently the president of the French Constitutional Council, during the Middle East Peace Initiative ministerial conference in Paris on Friday.
The Chinese foreign minister said the Sino-French relations have maintained a sound development momentum, and bilateral cooperation in various fields has made fruitful achievement. China and France have also kept close communication and coordination on international affairs.
He hopes Fabius, as an old friend of China, will continue to fully support the development of the Sino-French relations.
Fabius said the development momentum of the Sino-French relations is very encouraging. As a firm supporter of the friendship with China, he will continue to contribute to push forward the development of Sino-French relations.
