NAY PYI TAW, June 24 (Xinhua) -- A total of 6,062 jade lots are being displayed for sale at the 53rd Myanmar Jade, Gems and Pearl Emporium in Nay Pyi Taw which began Friday.
The emporium, which will last until July, will also put 512 gems lots and 365 pearl lots on sale.
All jade and gems lots, fixed with their reserve prices, are to be sold through open tender and competitive bidding in Euro currency.
The jade lots are fixed at reserved price of 4,000 euros to 200,000 euros, while other jade lots designated at 200,001 euros and above.
The emporium was attended by a total of 3,382 gems and jade merchants from host Myanmar, as well as China, India, Japan, Singapore and Thailand.
Myanmar had started holding Gem and Jade Emporiums since 1964.
The total of jade export for the fiscal year 2014-2015 reached 986.64 million U.S. dollars, down from 1.011 billion dollars in the fiscal year 2013-2014.
Jade stood as the second largest export item of Myanmar for both fiscal years.
