HELSINKI, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Many churches in Finland have provided power supply to Pokemon Go players to charge their mobile phones, reported Finnish news agency STT on Wednesday.
According to STT, several churches in the metropolitan region and some other parts of the country have offered the chances, and some churches even offer juice and biscuits.
Eeva-Kaisa Heikura, chief information officer of the church, said the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland regards the popular game as a positive phenomenon, because people who never visit churches will go there playing the game.
Released in July this year, Pokemon Go is a mobile game developed by Niantic, an American software developing company for iPhone and Android devices. The game allows players to capture, battle, and train virtual creatures called Pokemon, who appear on device screens as though in the real world.
Young folks in Finland have been enthusiastic about the game since it could be downloaded in the country last Saturday.
As the game is rapidly gaining popularity around the world, Pokemon Go players' road safety is concerned by the police.
Finnish Road Safety Council has warned that attention should be kept primarily in traffic, but not phone screens. Enditem
