MANILA, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Japan and the Philippines agreed Thursday to further strengthen their cooperation in fields including infrastructure development in southern Philippine island of Mindanao.
Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, who arrived in the country Wednesday for a three-day official visit, had a working lunch with Philippine Foreign Secretary Perfecto Yasay in Davao City.
Kishida said in a joint press conference that the two countries "agreed to further develop cooperation in broad areas including medical, security, economic, cultural and other fields."
Kishida will end his visit on Friday.
