VIENTIANE, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- A reception was held to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in Lao capital Vientiane on Wednesday.
Guan Huabing, Chinese Ambassador to Laos, when addressing the reception, introduced the socio-economic achievement in China during recent years.
"Since the founding of the People's Republic of China 67 years ago, China has made remarkable achievements attracted worldwide attention," Guan said.
This year marks the beginning of the 13th Five-Year Plan for China's national economic and social development, Guan said, adding the Chinese government resolutely implements the development concept of "innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing," and continues to accelerate industrial upgrading and structural adjustment.
Under the environment of weak international economic recovery, China's economy maintained a stable and progressive development, Guan said.
Guan said, China's development not only profoundly changed the fate of the Chinese people, but also made great contributions to world peace and prosperity.
The ambassador also congratulated Laos on the Lao People's Revolutionary Party's successful 10th Assembly, successfully fulfilling the ASEAN Presidency and successfully holding a series of meetings on East Asian cooperation, which has significantly enhanced its regional and international influence.
This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos. Over the past 55 years, the China-Laos friendship have flourished and thrived and have been bearing fruitful results.
"The high degree of mutual trust, comprehensive economic cooperation and extensive cultural integration have not only brought tangible benefits to the people of the two countries, but also made positive contributions to safeguarding regional and world peace, stability and development," said Guan.
Guan said, "The frequent exchange of high-level visits between the two countries has injected a strong impetus into the development of China-Laos relations and pushed forward bilateral cooperation in various fields such as politics, diplomacy, economy and trade, security law enforcement and cultural exchanges to a new level."
"We believe that the good-neighborly friendship and the increasingly effective and pragmatic cooperation between the two sides will bring more tangible benefits to the two countries and peoples," said Guan.
