JAKARTA, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Former Indonesia's State-owned Enterprises (SoE) minister Dahlan Iskan was detained in an East Java province prison after being declared suspect in an alleged graft case related to the ill-conducted sale of the province's asset.

The suspect status against the former SoE minister who served in then-government from 2011 to 2014 was related to the sale of 33 assets belonging to East Java province.

Dahlan was charged of having violated several articles in the nation's anti-corruption law which carries maximum punishment of 20 years in prison.

Speaking after being declared a suspect in the corruption case on Thursday, Dahlan said he was not surprised over the immediate detention against him, claiming that he has been targeted by those in power at present.

The former minister, who was also a media mogul, was now detained in the province's prison of Medaeng, waiting for further legal process.

Previously on Monday, Indonesia's anti-graft commission of KPK detained former health minister Siti Fadilah Supari over corruption case in the procurement of health equipment in 2005.

The former health minister who served from 2004 to 2009 was declared suspect by KPK in April 2014. She is now detained in a women's prison in the capital city to wait for her upcoming legal proceedings.
