ISLAMABAD, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani team is all set to feature in the upcoming 15th Asian Cadet, Junior and Under-21 Karate Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Indonesia later this month, an official said on Friday.
A spokesperson of the Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF) said that they have finalized a three-member squad to take part in the championship from Nov. 21 to 27.
"Pakistan team includes Naimat Ullah, Muhammad Awais and Saweel Fayaz. These players are capable of beating any player on the day," said the official, adding that "the participation of our national junior side will add to the experience of the players and help us promote Karate culture among youngsters."
Ullah, who won bronze Medal in Alahli Karate Open Championship 2015 in United Arab Emirates, will participate in Cadet Individual Kata event and he is a medal prospect for Pakistan.
In addition to the championship, Asian Karate Federation will also organize training courses for referees on the sidelines of the event.
The PKF has nominated two technical officials, namely Nasim Ahmed Qureshi and Ghulam Ali, for Kumite referee course and Kata referee course respectively.
"We are laying special emphasis on the grooming of our technical officials and for this we are sending our technical officials to attend courses to learn modern techniques of the game," said the spokesman.
