Brussels, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- A blackout occurred in parts of Brussels Thursday evening.
According to Sibelga, the operator of the electricity distribution network in the Brussels-Capital Region, the blackout affects several districts in the Region, including the European District where the EU institutions are seated.
However, lights can be seen at the European Commission building.
The cause of the blackout is still not clear and it remains unknown how long it will last, according to the spokesman of Sibelga.
