RIYADH, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia has foiled the trafficking of weapons and ammunition into Saudi Arabia from Yemen, Al Arabiya local news reported on Sunday.

Security forces on Sunday launched an operation to pursue the smugglers and seized 100 guns and more than 2,969 bullets, the report said.

Saudi border cities have been targeted with illegal trafficking of weapons, missile and shell attacks from Yemen since the beginning of Saudi-led war against Houthi militias in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia also blames Houthis of being behind the planting of lane mines that killed a number of security personnel at the borders in recent months.
