HANOI, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has restarted a 531 million U.S. dollars project on building a 63.8 km expressway linking the two northern provinces of Bac Giang and Lang Son which borders China, a local bank said here on Thursday.
The Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade has just provided its investor with a credit of more than 10 trillion Vietnamese dong (442 million U.S. dollars) to meet the capital shortage which resulted in the work halt.
Under the mode of build-operate-transfer, the 25 meter-wide expressway is scheduled to become operational by late 2019, allowing vehicles to run at a maximum speed of 100 km per hour.
Construction of the Bac Giang-Lang Son section, part of the 152-km Hanoi-Lang Son expressway, from the capital city to Lang Son's Huu Nghi border gate, started in 2015.
