Villagers greet actors of Chigezhou, or "Dance for the Gods of Mountains", a traditional Baima dance, in Shimengou Village of Wenxian County in Longnan, northwest China's Gansu Province, Feb. 10, 2017. Speaking a similar language, the Baima people are categorized as a branch of the Tibetans. With a population of less than 20,000 nationwide, they mainly live in Gansu and its neighboring Sichuan Province. Chigezhou, listed as a national intangible culture heritage in 2008, is a rite very important to the Baima people who still worship nature. They perform the dance believing it can expel evil spirits and bring the blessings of the gods of the mountains and rivers. (Xinhua/Xin Yuewei)
