MOGADISHU, June 30 (Xinhua) -- At least 20 civilians traveling in a bus were killed in a roadside bomb attack near the Somali capital of Mogadishu on Thursday.
The bus hit a bomb planted on a roadside, about 20 km from Mogadishu, killing the majority of passengers after most of them were burned.
Police officer Abdirizak Said said the attack was aimed at a military vehicle.
A resident named Nor Ahmed told Xinhua that there was a huge blast which caused panic all over the place.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack, which came barely a week after militant group Al-Shabaab attacked a hotel in Mogadishu killing 17 people.
