BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Fifth Session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will start on March 3.
The decision was approved at the 19th meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee on Monday. CPPCC National Committee Chairman Yu Zhengsheng attended the meeting.
According to a statement released after the meeting, the proposed agenda of the annual session includes hearing and deliberation on a report about the work of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and a report on how the Standing Committee has handled proposals set forth by CPPCC National Committee members since the previous session.
Attendees of the CPPCC National Committee annual session will also be present at the Fifth Session of the 12th National People's Congress as non-voting participants, hearing and discussing a report on the work of the government and discussing a draft of the general provisions of civil law.
The CPPCC is a consultation body. It consists of figures representative of Chinese society who advise the government, and legislative and judicial organs.
