BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday urged Japan to adopt the right frame of mind and be sensible to see and accept China's development and revitalization.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic ties, also the 80th anniversary of the Marco Polo Bridge incident.
"The two anniversary dates represent two totally different paths, one leading to peace and friendship, and the other to war and confrontation," Wang said at a press conference on the sidelines of the annual session of the National People's Congress.
Noting that some people in Japan are still torn between the two paths, Wang called for the peaceloving Japanese to step up efforts to make sure the country moves forward in the right direction.
As for the relationship between China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, Wang acknowledged the enormous needs and bright prospects for cooperation.
For the moment, the three countries should handle well the issues affecting the healthy development of their cooperation and create necessary conditions for a trilateral leaders' meeting, Wang said.
