MOGADISHU, May 30 (Xinhua) -- A light aircraft crash landed at Mogadishu airport in Somalia on Tuesday morning, but no casualties were reported from the 10:30 a.m. incident which caused traffic disruptions for some time.
Sources at the airport who did not want to be identified said the aircraft chartered by the U.S. logistics company Bancroft crash landed after its gears failed. Four foreign nationals were aboard the aircraft.
"The plane crashed landed along the runway. There were four foreigner officials who were rescued and not one was injured," said the source.
Flights to and from the airport were put on hold for close to an hour until aviation rescue teams cleared the facility for business.
The sources said the aircraft was from Uganda. The company is known to be providing logistics and supplies to African Union forces in Somalia.
