HELSINKI, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Another four Moroccans were detained and a warrant has been issued for a fifth after a young man stabbed people at the squares in the southwestern Finnish city of Turku, police said on Saturday.
The suspect, currently in hospital receiving treatment, was identified as an 18-year-old Moroccan by the police.
He allegedly mounted the attacks that left two dead and eight others injured on Friday afternoon.
He had been in the process of applying for asylum in Finland when committing the crime, the police said at a press conference in Turku.
Crista Granroth, who is in charge of the investigation, told Xinhua that the police was regarding the case as an independent one in Turku. She said there was no sign that the group was related to the perpetrators who had killed 14 people in Spain's double terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambril.
