BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Brunei will hold the first meeting of the 14th session of the Legislative Council (LegCo) on March 5, when the sultanate's national budget for the next financial year will be discussed, the government said on Thursday.
According to a government statement, the opening ceremony will be officiated by Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and the LegCo members comprise officials, titled persons, appointed people with contributions in various fields and the country's four district representatives.
New Cabinet members appointed on Jan. 30 will be seen at the LegCo meeting.
The main topic during the 14th LegCo session will be the budget bill for financial year 2018/2019 for government ministries and departments in the sultanate. The LegCo session is also expected to discuss issues related to public welfare.
