ATHENS, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Greek economy grew by 1.4 percent in 2017 compared to the previous year, totaling 187.1 billion euros (230.4 billion U.S. dollars) from 184.6 billion euros in 2016, the Greek Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced on Monday in Athens.
According to the press release, this is a first estimate based on provisional data, and a second one will be released in October 2018.
This first estimate is lower than the 1.6 percent the Greek government expected in the state budget draft vote in December which was accepted by the European Commission. (1 euro= 1.23 U.S. dollars)
