LAGOS, March 6 (Xinhua) -- All opportunities must be explored using satellite surveillance system and community-oriented support to rescue the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls, Nigeria's defense minister said Tuesday.
Speaking at a security seminar in Abuja, the country's capital, Mansur Dan-Ali said all opportunities must also be explored to prevent the re-occurrence of such incident in the future.
On Feb. 19, 110 students of Government Girls' Science and Technical College in Dapchi, northeast state of Yobe, were abducted by the suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
The incident came four years after the same terror group invaded a female school in Chibok, Borno, and took more than 200 girls into captivity.
The minister also said there was a need to develop capacity and capability to effectively curtail cyber threats.
He said most terrorists' organizations had resorted to recruiting new members and indoctrinating them through the internet.
