Dollar inches down to upper 105 yen zone on U.S. protectionism concerns

TOKYO, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar edged down to the upper 105 yen zone Wednesday in Tokyo amid concerns over U.S. trade protectionism.

At 5:00 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 105.71-72 yen compared with 106.06-16 yen in New York and 106.14-15 yen in Tokyo at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. It moved between 105.45 yen and 106.17 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.2407-2408 dollars and 131.16-20 yen against 1.2400-2410 dollars and 131.65-75 yen in New York and 1.2334-2335 dollars and 130.92-96 yen in Tokyo late Tuesday afternoon.
