BRATISLAVA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Slovak Parliament gave the confidence to Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini and his new government on Monday, with 81 voting in favor of the government manifesto out of 144 presented members of the Parliament.
Pellegrini in his first reaction promised prosperity of the country to the citizens.
"We would like to make Slovakia as a good place to live. We will work, that honest people will live well and those who commit crimes will be punished," stressed Pellegrini.
The new government will continue smoothly in meeting the manifesto that was approved by the previous government on April 26, 2016. According to Pellegrini, he pledged to pay attention to people's real lives rather than to political polarisation and the division of society.
The reconstruction of the government came as a result of a crisis that occurred after the murders of journalist Jan Kuciak and his girlfriend, as well as other circumstances including the release of information on top governing politicians' alleged links to the Calabrian Mafia.
