CHICAGO, March 27 (Xinhua) -- A former Michigan State University official who used to oversee disgraced U.S. gymnastic doctor Larry Nassar was now charged himself with sexual misconducts.

A district judge in the state of Michigan on Tuesday morning authorized a criminal complaint and warrant against William Strampel, who until December was dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, local media reported.

Strampel, 70, was accused of using his own office to "harass, discriminate, demean, sexually proposition, and sexually assault female students in violation of his statutory duty as a public officer."

He was also charged with failing to enforce or monitor protocols set for Nassar after a female patient complained of inappropriate sexual contact. Nassar worked in a clinic affiliated with the college.

The woman who accused Strampel told investigators she "was not surprised Nassar had been able to victimize so many women under the supervision of Strampel," the Detroit News reported.

Larry Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics physician has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing large number of female gymnasts, many underage, under the disguise of treatment. He is expected to stay in prison for the rest of his life.

The victims have also accused Michigan State University and sports organizations of failing to stop Nassar's crime.
