DOHA, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Britain has praised Qatar Charity (QC)'s efforts in international humanitarian development, Qatari local media reported Thursday.

The remarks were made by the British Minister of State for International Development and the Middle East and North Africa at Britain's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Alistair Burt, during his visit to Qatar this week, reported Gulf Times.

During the visit, the British envoy met with QC officials and reviewed Qatar Charity's latest efforts and its financial tracking system which calculates all incomes of the charity.

"I am impressed by Qatar Charity's generous contributions to humanitarian development around the world," the minister said

Qatar Charity (QC) along with 11 entities and 59 individuals has been accused of funding terrorist organizations by the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Doha denounced the blacklist.

On June 5, Saudi Arabia and the other nations imposed an embargo on the energy-rich country, Qatar, accusing it of funding terrorism.

Later, the Arab nations issued a list of demands that asked Qatar to close Al-Jazeera, scale back cooperation with Iran, and remove Turkish troops from Qatar.

Qatar, however, insisted it does not fund terrorists, and denied all the allegations.
