KIEV, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's industrial output rose by 2.4 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2018, with all key sectors showing growth, official data showed on Tuesday.
According to the report by Ukraine's State Statistics Service, the country's processing sector grew by 2.5 percent, while the mining sector expanded by 2.3 percent in January-March.
The industries of electricity, gas and water production and distribution posted a growth of 2.1 percent in the first quarter of this year compared with the same period of 2017, the report said.
Ukraine's industrial production in 2016 recovered from a four-year crisis, growing by 2.8 percent.
The growth has decelerated to 0.4 percent in 2017 mainly due to the economic blockade of the eastern region of Donbas, which has negatively affected mining industry and power production.
