JAKARTA, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian industry ministry has forecast the country's export of handicraft products will grow nearly three times this year amid growing export market.
Director general for small and medium enterprises of the ministry Gati Wibawaningsih said on Wednesday that the shipment of Indonesian handicraft products is projected to grow 10 percent this year, compared with a 3.8 percent expansion to 776 million U.S. dollars last year.
"Indonesian handicraft products keep high demand despite global economic problems," Gati said.
To reach the goal, the ministry has promoted the country's products in exhibitions which may enlarge their market in the world, the director said.
Indonesia have many exquisite handicrafts and the government has striven to boost exports of handicraft products.
