MOGADISHU, May 10 (Xinhua) -- At least seven Somali soldiers were killed and others injured in a deadly bomb attack on Thursday targeting a military vehicle in Wanlaweyn town in southern Somalia, about 90 km northwest of the capital of Mogadishu, local officials said.
Local officials said the improvised explosive device (IED) tore the military vehicle in which the soldiers were traveling on its way to Afgoye town, about 30 km west of Mogadishu.
Ali Nur, deputy governor of the Lower Shabelle region, said seven government soldiers were killed and two others injured when their vehicle hit the explosive device.
