NAIROBI, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Kenya is confident of navigating past Equatorial Guinea in the African women's soccer Cup of Nations qualifier.
Head coach David Ouma has kept faith in the team that beat Uganda 1-0 last month and hopes the girls will improve the quality of their game ahead of their clash with Equatorial Guinea in Machakos on June 4.
"My team has shown consistence since last year and that is why I have kept faith with majority of players, who featured for Kenya in the first round against Uganda," said Ouma here on Monday.
The team will move to training camp in Machakos on Wednesday.
A total of 24 teams started the qualification campaign but only 14 have remained who have to play home and away matches to select the best seven to join hosts Ghana for the 13th edition of the continental showpiece scheduled for Nov. 17 to Dec 1.
The top three of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.
Equatorial Guinea are expected in the country next week ahead of the two-legged match. The first match will be played on June 4 while the return leg will be on June 9 in Malabo.
