CAIRO, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Egypt sent humanitarian aid including medicines and food supplies to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, official news agency MENA reported.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi has instructed the concerned authorities to facilitate the access of the convoy to the restive enclave to ease the sufferings of the Palestinian people, the report said.
Egypt already sent a convoy carrying 50 tons of food and medicines to Gaza last Friday.
On May 18, Sisi ordered to keep the Rafah crossing open for the entire holy month of Ramadan starting on May 17, to allow the mobility of diesel fuel, construction materials, food and medicine.
At least 112 Palestinians have been killed and more than 13,000 others injured on the Gaza-Israel borders since the Palestinians launched anti-Israel rallies on March 30.
