PARIS, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and many others injured on Saturday night in a road accident in Chantemerle les Bles, southeastern France, local authorities said on Sunday.
The fatal accident occurred at around 23:15 local time ( 2115 GMT) on the A7 motorway after a bus carrying supporters of Beaucaire rugby club lost balance and was laid on its side, the prefecture said in a statement.
Three people were killed. And 11 fans were seriously injured and 17 others suffered slight wounds, it added, without giving details on the incident's cause.
According to French newspaper Le Figaro, "pneumatic problem" could be behind the accident.
An investigation is underway to determine whether it was caused by technical malfunction or human error. Enditem
