TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan, May 27 (Xinhua) -- At least one person lost his life and three others sustained injuries as an unknown man opened fire in Tirin Kot, capital city of southern Uruzgan province, on Sunday, said an official.
According to the official, who declined to be identified, the incident took place inside the New Kabul Bank at around 02:00 p.m. local time, leaving an official of the bank dead.
Meanwhile, another official who also refused to be named put the number of casualties higher than reported and said that a guard of the bank opened fire, killing and injuring at least six people.
Provincial government spokesman Dost Mohammad Nayab has confirmed the incident, saying investigation is underway.
