KABUL, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Three Afghan police were injured after a militant wearing suicide vest blew himself up next to a police checkpoint in Dara Afghania village, Nijrab district of eastern Kapisa province, on Tuesday, provincial police spokesman Mohammad Ayub Yusufzai said.
The attacker was killed in the blast, the official said.
Following the suicide bombing, the official said that a group of Taliban fighters attacked on some security checkpoints nearby, triggering a gun battle that lasted for a while. The militants, after suffering casualties, fled away.
Taliban militants haven't commented on the news.
