PARIS, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Yassin Atar, a Belgian national, was extradited to France on Tuesday under an international arrest warrant and was put under formal investigation as part of an inquiry into the 2015 Paris attacks that left 130 victims, according to local media reports.
Citing a source close to the investigation, the local broadcaster Europe 1 said the suspect appeared before investigating magistrates early in the day. He was heard on his role in the series of explosions and shootings that rocked French capital three years ago.
The 31-year-old suspect was placed under formal investigation after the questioning. He was charged with complicity in preparing 2015 attacks, the report added.
Atar was indicted in 2017 for "terrorist murders" and "participation in the activities of a terrorist group as a leader," according to the report.
