TOKYO, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed in a paragliding accident Saturday in Gunma prefecture, eastern Japan, local media reported.
According to the report, the accident occurred at a local paragliding school where a 36-year-old man from Tokyo and his local trainer crashed into the ground from some 30 meters in the air.
The trainer, who had some 20 years of experience in paragliding, was steering the glider when the accident happened, said the report.
The accident happened just five minutes after they took off from the ground.
The two people were sent to a hospital after the crash and later confirmed dead.
Local police are still investigating the situation.
