HANOI, June 30 (Xinhua) -- The Inspection Commission under the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) requested authorized agencies to consider and take disciplinary measures against the Minister of Information and Communications and a former Minister of Information and Communications, who are said to have involved in a deal between a state-owned telecommunications service provider MobiFone and private television company AVG.
The Inspection Commission decided on disciplinary measures against the Party committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and related individuals for their violations of regulations and wrongdoings, Vietnam News Agency reported on Saturday.
The commission requested authorized agencies to consider and take disciplinary measures against the Party Committee of the MIC; Nguyen Bac Son, former member of the CPVCC, former Secretary of the Party Committee and former Minister of the MIC; and Truong Minh Tuan, member of the CPVCC, Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of the MIC.
Earlier, the commission concluded that the Party Committee of the MIC has committed serious violations in the case of MobiFone buying 95 percent of shares in AVG.
Nguyen Bac Son is accused of violating democracy and working regulations, showing signs of imposition and a lack of democracy in leadership and management work.
Truong Minh Tuan is said to have violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations, and showed a lack of responsibility and poor leadership when tasked to direct the implementation of the MobiFone-AVG deal.
