ALGIERS, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Algeria and Britain on Wednesday discussed cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
The discussion came amid the visit of British Minister of State for the Commonwealth and United Nations Tariq Mahmood Ahmad.
The talks addressed "issues of common interest," including security, terrorism and religious extremism, Ahmad told reporters after his meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.
The two countries "are working together to address these issues, and we are working to defend the true face of Islam," he noted.
Bilateral cooperation in all fields including the economic sector is also the focus of their talks, the British minister added.
