HANOI, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam spent 930 million U.S. dollars importing 1 million tons of paper in the first half of this year, up 13.4 percent in value and up 1.6 percent in volume against the same period last year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on Thursday.
Vietnam imported roughly 2 million tons of paper of various kinds totaling nearly 1.7 billion U.S. dollars last year, up 2.8 percent and 10.5 percent year-on-year respectively, with the biggest import market being China, followed by Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
Meanwhile, Vietnam reaped total paper and paper product export turnovers of 732 million U.S. dollars, with the biggest export market being China, tailed by the United States and Japan.
