SINGAPORE, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 1.99 percent or 64.89 points to close at 3191.82.
A total of 2.28 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 2.01 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.48 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 290 to 121.
The STI index closed up 0.36 percent or 11.82 points to close at 3256.71 on Thursday.
