YEKATERINBURG, Russia, July 11 (Xinhua) -- The ongoing fifth China-Russia Expo has attracted around 42,000 visitors, including 2,700 people from China, the expo's organizing committee said Wednesday at a press conference.
Fifteen Chinese provincial government delegations and nine Russian provincial government delegations have participated in the event, according to Wang Jingxian, Chinese Deputy Secretary-General of the China-Russia Expo's Organizing Committee.
During the expo, 24 events are scheduled to be held, involving more than 30 fields, with 14 events jointly held by Chinese and Russian government bodies, he added.
"The preparation and holding of the expo show that cooperation between China and Russia is turning from single trade and economic projects to the combination of trade and investment," Wang said at the press conference.
As the highest-level and most comprehensive exhibition held by the two countries, the three-day expo kicked off on Tuesday, with the theme of "new beginning, new opportunities and new future."
More than 200 Russian and Chinese companies are expected to showcase various products in five sectors including equipment manufacturing, infrastructure connectivity, technology innovation, modern agriculture and trade in services.
A number of agreements were signed during the expo, including a document on the establishment of a China-Russia science and technology cooperation alliance and a cooperation deal on the development of an integrated transport corridor in the Russian Far East with an investment of 130 million U.S. dollars.
The annual event will conclude on Thursday.
