MANILA, July 31 (Xinhua) -- At least six people, including four militiamen and a child, were killed on Tuesday when a car bomb exploded in Basilan, an island province in southern Philippines, the Philippine media reported.
Quoting the military and Lamitan Vice Mayor Roderick Furigay, media reported that the car exploded around 6:00 a.m. local time while being inspected at a checkpoint in a village in Lamitan City.
The military has yet to issue an official report of the incident. But the military suspected the terror group Abu Sayyaf is behind the attack.
