JAKARTA, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- National police of Indonesia has joined hands with Philippine authorities to investigate a suicide bombing allegedly staged by an Indonesian citizen on Tuesday in the Philippines, Indonesian police officer said here Thursday.
A car loaded with bombs and driven by a driver believed to be an Indonesian citizen went off near a security post in Lamitan of Basilan, leaving 10 people dead including a child, soldiers and the bomber, and 7 others injured.
Deputy police chief Commissioner General Syafruddin said that Indonesian anti-terror agency is also involved in the investigation.
The Indonesian police would verify the validity of the allegation over the citizenship of the driver, according to national police spokesman Inspector General Setyo Wasisto.
