CHICAGO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A 17-year-old teenager was shot and killed when riding his bike Sunday afternoon in a local neighborhood, media reported.
The incident occurred in the Gresham neighborhood in the U.S. city of Chicago's southern region. The teen had engaged in an argument with men on bikes when he was critically injured. He died at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police were quoted as saying.
Local media reports said the victim was among more than 10 people shot in Chicago since about noon on Sunday, three of them fatally.
In a drive-by shooting, three people standing before a residence in another neighborhood in southern Chicago were injured, and one of them, a 27-year-old man, died after being hospitalized.
In another case in the city's south, a 50-year-old man was killed by a shot in the head and a 55-year-old woman was injured when a gunman in a ski mask fired at them.
The victims also included a 62-year-old who was injured in an attempted robbery when he was parking his vehicle in a neighborhood in the northwest of the city, it is reported.
