MOSCOW, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Stargazers in the Northern Hemisphere are in for a treat as a rare green comet crosses the sky this week, according to Russian comet researchers cited by Russia's Sputnik on Wednesday.
The comet, nicknamed "Incredible Hulk" for its green glow, is approaching the Earth and sky-watchers are most likely to see it Tuesday night and Wednesday night.
The size of the gas-dust cloud of the celestial body is at least twice the size of the largest planet in the Solar system: Jupiter, according to scientists.
At its closest, the comet will be about 113 million km from Earth, before heading closer to the sun. It is expected to reach its closest point to the sun on Aug. 15.
The incoming comet will pose no danger to Earth except a possible cometary electromagnetic pulse, said experts.
