ATHENS, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- AEK Athens won the ticket for the next qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday at the OAKA Stadium in the Greek capital.

AEK beat Celtic FC 2-1 and in combination with last week's draw 1-1 in Glasgow, the Greek team is closer to qualification for the UEFA Champions League groups.

AEK Athens scored the first goal in the 6th minute of the match with Rodrigo Galo, while in the beginning of the second half, in the 50th minute, it scored a second goal with Marko Livaja.

The Scottish side tried hard to score a goal and they did it at the 79th minute with Scott Sinclair, but could not do any better by the end of the game. AEK Athens is now facing the Hungarian side MOL Vidi FC in the next stage of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
