CAIRO, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Egypt expressed its concern over the repercussions of a Saudi journalist's disappearance in Turkey and voiced support for Saudi Arabia in dealing with the issue, Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
"Egypt is following up with concern the repercussions of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance, stressing the importance of finding out the truth through transparent probe," Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in the statement.
The Saudi reporter has been missing since Oct. 2 after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul with some allegations that the Saudi regime might be involved in his mysterious disappearance.
Saudi officials have repeatedly dismissed the charges, saying Khashoggi's disappearance came after he left the consulate building.
Egypt also warned against the perils of jumping to conclusions, launching accusations haphazardly or using the case politically against the kingdom based on uncertain charges, according to Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
