TEHRAN, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Iran's capital Tehran hosts an international conference on Yemen war, state TV reported on Thursday.
The conference, titled Supporting the Oppressed and Resistant Yemenis, kicked off in Tehran on Thursday with the participation of Yemeni opposition representatives, intellectuals and rights activists from 35 countries.
The one-day conference also feature speeches by some Iranian officials and Yemeni opposition representatives.
The military conflict in Yemen began with the 2014 takeover of the capital of Sanaa by the Shiite Houthi rebels supported by Iran, which forced Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi into exile.
The Saudi-led coalition allied with the government has been fighting the Houthis since 2015.
