Afghan forces kill 9 militants, capture 12 others: official

QALAT, Afghanistan, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces in operations against Taliban fighters have killed nine militants and captured 12 others in the southern Zabul province, said a statement of provincial administration released here on Monday.

The operations, according to the statement, were launched in Ludin area of Shahjoi district on Sunday, during which the government forces have also seized and destroyed huge quantity of armed and ammunitions of the militant group.

Taliban militants who are in control of parts of the troubled Zabul province haven't commented.
