PARIS, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday reaffirmed France's support for Lebanon's newly appointed cabinet in its efforts to ensure economic stability and implement social reforms, the presidency office said in a statement.
Macron "wishes success to Prime Minister Saad Hariri and the government's ministers in their future work in the service of Lebanese people," the Elysee said.
Macron reiterated "France's willingness to accompany Lebanon on the path of economic and social reforms," in particular through the implementation of an investment program put forward at a fundraising conference held in Paris in April 2018 to help Lebanon address its humanitarian and economic crisis and better handle its refugees issue, the statement said.
On Thursday, Lebanon formed a 30-member national unity government, breaking a nine-month political deadlock in the country.
