Bulgaria's GDP grows by 3.4 pct in Q1

SOFIA, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 3.4 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2019, official data showed on Wednesday.

According to flash estimates released by the country's National Statistical Institute (NSI), the GDP at current prices amounted to 23.884 billion BGN (13.709 billion U.S. dollars).

Exports and imports of goods and services increased by 5.0 percent and 1.7 percent respectively compared with the same period last year, the NSI figures showed.

In the fourth, third and second quarters of 2018, Bulgaria's GDP grew by 3.2 percent, 3.1 percent and 3.4 percent year-on-year respectively. Enditem
