HOHHOT, May 26 (Xinhua) -- South Korea continued to impress in the third day of the 2019 Judo Hohhot Grand Prix, with its judokas earning two gold medals here on Sunday.
South Korean Cho Gu-ham took the gold medal in men's 100kg category, defeating Benjamin Fletcher from Ireland in the final. Two bronze medals were shared by Otgonbaatar Lkhagvasuren from Mongolia and Karl-Richard Frey from Germany.
Asian junior champion, 18-year-old South Korean judoka Kim Min-jong, underlined his superiority in men's over 100kg category by winning the gold, after defeating 34-year-old Mongolian judoka Tuvshinbayar Naidan. The bronze medals went to Levani Matiashvili from Georgia and Lukas Krpalek from Czech Republic.
Paris Grand Slam bronze medalist Kenta Nagasawa from Japan captured his second Grand Prix gold medal with a straightforward win over Baku Grand Slam gold medalist Nemanja Majdov from Serbia in the men's 90kg final. Giorgi Papunashvili from Georgia and Silva Morales from Cuba shared bronze.
Fanny Estelle Posvite from France claimed her first IJF Grand Prix gold medal, defeated world number 8 and former U23 European Championships gold medalist Anna Maria Wagner from Germany in the women's 78kg final. The bronze medals went to China's Ma Zhenzhao and Cuban Kaliema Antomarchi.
In the women's over 78kg category, Idalys Ortiz from Cuba won the gold. Japan came second with Maya Akiba, while two bronze medals went respectively to Xu Shiyan from China and Jasmin Kuelbs from Germany.
The 2019 IJF Hohhot Grand Prix concluded on Sunday evening, drawing 301 judokas from 43 countries and regions. South Korea was on the top of medals standings with four gold and two bronze medals. China grabbed two silver and four bronze medals, ranking 9th.
