BELGRADE, June 2 (Xinhua) -- France won their third consecutive match at the FIVB men's volleyball nations league on Sunday in Novi Sad, Serbia against Japan by 25-22, 25-27, 25-19, 25-15.
The French team had hard time in the first set to cling on to their early lead in face of Japanese counterattacks, but still managed to get in front.
After two teams were leveled in the second set all the way to 24-24, Japan took the chance to set the score even at 1-1.
However, the second set exhausted Japan's strength, and France showed another face in the third and fourth set, easing to their victory.
France defeated Serbia and Russia before.
It's the second defeat for Japan that so far only beat Serbia.
Japan will play Argentina at home on June 7, while France will meet Poland in China on the same day.
